Our Story
The genesis of this project is a child that loves to play. And like all kids, Luke loves to be on a playground. The difference is that Luke requires a walker or a wheelchair for independent movement. Luke is one of many children that live with physical disabilities in our community and there isn’t a space for them to play. When children aren’t able to access a playground, they are left alone to watch other children play. We decided it was time for a change. Our Savior Lutheran School is partnering with the DREAM Foundation of Kentucky to build a large inclusive playground that allows all children the ability to play. This playground is not just for students, but for the entire community.
