Frequently Asked Questions

How are you going to make sure the playground is safe for children from potential oncoming traffic on Shelbyville road?

In addition to the fence that already exists along Shelbyville road, we plan to install concrete vehicle barriers between the trees along the perimeter of the playground.

What if we don't raise all of the funds for the playground? What happens to my donation?

While we are confident that we can reach our fundraising goal, we do have a plan if we come up short. We are working with a very skilled playground designer that has extensive experience with inclusive playgrounds. If we are unable to raise the full amount, we will first focus on the "Main Playground" structure. Our designer will make a new design based on the funds that we were able to raise and will include as many accessible and sensory components as possible. While it wouldn't look exactly like our original design, it would still add value to our school and community.

Is the playground open to the public?

Yes! The playground will be open to the public for use outside of school hours.
